"I found the addition of Misty Earth truffles a wonderfully easy way to add a unique rich earthy flavour to dishes to elevate them from good to decadent……"

Joanna Tennent

Visiting Misty Earth Truffles was my first truffle experience. We started by following the truffle dog's nose and lightly digging under the trees he marked. Sometimes we were successful, and it was clear that finding the perfect truffle is a refined art, with age gradients playing a crucial role. The trick is to get them just right—not too old, not too young—and you could tell by the smell and texture. It was a fun challenge! The truffle butter with lunch was earthy and simply delicious.

At Misty Truffles, the truffle dog excitedly rushed from tree to tree in the truffières, sniffing out the nutty, earthy black truffles. We checked what he found for ripeness and gathered the good ones in a basket. Lunch and truffle butter beckoned!

It is with great enthusiasm that we, Richard and Maureen Parish, co-authors of the "Guernsey Saga Trilogy, a New Zealand Story,  recommend the exceptional truffles cultivated by "Misty Earth," owned and operated by Rod and Suzie Douglas.

After a dedicated wait of 15 years, Rod and Suzie have perfected the art of truffle cultivation in the lush landscapes of Katikati, New  Zealand. Their passion and patience have culminated in what we  confidently declare as the finest truffles available in the region.

"Misty Earth" truffles are not merely an ingredient; they are a culinary experience. Their signature truffle butter recipe is a testament to their commitment to quality and flavour. It is a versatile  companion to any main course, snack or soup, adding a layer of  decadence that will compel you to savor every last morsel.

We have had the pleasure of incorporating "Misty Earth "truffle  butter into our own meals, and the richness it brings to the table is  unparalleled. It is so indulgent, in fact, that resisting the urge to lick  the plate becomes a delightful challenge.

We wholeheartedly support "Misty Earth" and urge all culinary enthusiasts and professionals alike to experience the magic that Rod and Suzie Douglas have brought to the world of gastronomy.  Their truffles are not just food; they are a celebration of flavour that you will want to revisit time and again.
